Notes: If you have friend who might be interested in becoming a member of the group, try to bring them along as a guest. This is a generally a smaller and more informal gathering then a regular monthly meeting. It could be the best way to get somebody interested enough in the group to want to take additional steps towards becoming a local member.

 

What: General Monthly Meeting

Where: Johnnie's Charcoal Broiler Meeting Room (5001 S. Harvard Avenue, Tulsa)
Why: Monthly Meeting with JimAnn Oliver. The program will be a presentation about gifted education, and elated topics such as educational assessment in light of the "No Child Left Behind" legislation.  JimAnn is a research supervisor for the U. S. Dept. of Education projects, including currently the gathering of data in the state of Kansas for "The Nation's Report Card".  Prior to her current position, JimAnn was a placement specialist and teacher in the Moore, OK gifted program.  Before that, she setup and worked in programs for the mentally handicapped and those with learning disabilities.  JimAnn holds a B. A. from Illinois State and a M. Ed. from OU.

Directions: Located on the east side of Harvard Avenue, and the north side of the Skelly Bypass (I-44).  This building was a Shoney's restaurant in a former life.  Those approaching from the north on Harvard can cut through the parking lot of the office building that's north of the restaurant.  Restaurant phone number is 918-743-1110.

Snacks: Don't bring a thing, Johnnie's will provide a nice dinner.  Try their pies.

Why: Fly some kites and enjoy the springtime weather

Notes: Works including Mozart Sonata (a-minor KV310), the "Frankonian Picture Book" of the great pianist Wilhelm Kempff, the very famous "Moonlight" Sonata of Beethoven and after the intermission, the "Davidsbündler" op. 6, one of the most beautiful romantic cycle of 18 character pieces.
