What: July Coffee at Borders
When: Tuesday, 17 Jul, 2001, 16:30 Hrs. till 18:30 Hrs
Where: Borders Bookstore (2740 East 21st Street, Tulsa)
Why: Coffee, Snacks, & Good Conversation
Who: Hosted by the local Mensa group

Directions: South side of 21st Street between Lewis & Harvard Avenues. (Just immediately west of where the Broken Arrow Expressway crosses over 21st Street).
Smoking: Not here
Booze: Not here
Snacks: Yes, we meet in the cafe area
Animals: Not here
Notes: If you have friend who might be interested in becoming a member of the group, try to bring them along as a guest.  This is a generally a smaller and more informal gathering then a regular monthly meeting.  It could be the best way to get somebody interested enough in the group to want to take additional steps towards becoming a local member.

Where: Johnnie's Charcoal Broiler (5001 S. Harvard Ave., Tulsa)
Why: Monthly Meeting with Food
Who: Hosted the local Mensa group

Directions: Located on the east side of Harvard Avenue, between the Skelly Bypass (I-44) and 51st Street.  This building was formerly a Shoneys restaurant.  This is the northeast corner of 51st Street and Harvard Avenue.

Booze: Not here
Snacks: Johnnie will feed you a nice dinner.  Do try their pies.
Animals: Not here
Speaker: As of this moment, we don't have a speaker scheduled.  This can be a good thing.  Many times when I have come to meetings here, I have often hoped the speaker would wait a little longer before getting started so I could keep the conversations going.

 

What: July Float Trip with Central Oklahoma Mensa
When: From noon Saturday, 28 July, 2001 till sometime Sunday 29, July, 2001
Where: Illinois River, based from the Sparrowhawk Camp
Why: Get cool & wet while meeting Central Oklahoma mensans
Who: Bruce and Louanne Duckworth
RSVP Info: None required
Directions: You will have to obtain your own directions for getting to Sparrowhawk Camp.
Smoking: Outdoors shouldn't present a problem
Booze: As available
Snacks: Group meals and marshmallows in camp.
Animals: Not sure, but it seems like you could bring a dog.
Notes: Those staying over Saturday night so they can float again on Sunday can either camp out or find accommodations at a motel in Tahlequah.  The camp number for the Duckworth party will be posted in the main building.
